Artist tape, sometimes referred to as drafting tape, is especially useful where low-tack adhesion is preferred, like when securing photos, drawing paper, watercolor paper or display boards and for labeling, color coding and framing. This artists tape comes in 60-yard rolls with width options of .75-, 1.0-, 1.5- and 2-inches. It's available in seven standard and four fluorescent, black-light sensitive colors.
The white artist tape is especially popular for those needing to write on the tape. You can use a pen, pencil, marker or flexographic ink. This tape is made to be repositioned, possible because of its low-tack adhesive, and leaves a clean, residue-free surface when removed. It won't harm or tear the paper it's being used to temporarily hold down, which is why it's a favorite among artists, even though it's more expensive than masking tape. It's easy to unwind, has good tensile strength (35-lbs per inch), and is 6.5 mils thick. It is acid free (pH balanced) and won't yellow over time.
